I'm touched by the American Tower Corp.'s concern for the well-being of D.C. residents [letters, Nov. 17].

From Webster, N.Y., a corporate vice president writes to plead our case for the high technology we supposedly lack and desperately crave. And little did we know our mayor has his employees wear pagers that don't work in the District--or did I misread Robert Morgan's attempt at an ironic aside?

Bluff and bluster from far-off places--and gratuitous slaps at a citizenry that demands a say in its own government: That's the American (Tower) Way.
